We are part of a new revolution: a society of women "hooking up" which means having casual dating without strings. This is new to our young generation. Historically, women insisted on relationships that provided financial security and safety in a society that valued women staying at home raising children. Today, women are expected to achieve as much as men do in school and in the workplace

One consequence of these new expectations is that women should be able to have relationsips like a man -- purely physical, while not insisting on a lasting connection with their sex partners.
